Freshly ground coffee is critical for a good cup of coffee. The whole bean acts as a protective shell, sealing in the oils and aromas, and this seal is broken upon grinding. The good news is, for drip and pour over extraction, you do not need an expensive burr grinder! The Bodum C-Mill is a blade grinder, and is great for auto and manual drip brewing methods. The average blade grinder, however, gets too hot, and gets dull too quickly resulting in smashed, uneven, and burnt grinds. The Bodum C-Mill however, features stainless steel blades that keep their edge longer, and a precise yet powerful motor that ensures the beans are cut and will not burn.

Please note that no blade-type grinder is suitable for extraction methods such as espresso, as the grind is not uniform enough and can result in a clogged portafilter (a potential dangerous situation). For these brewing methods, you will need to use a burr grinder such as the Baratza Maestro.
